Broken Skies is a 3D arcade flight-combat game built by myself on Unity® software and written in C#. The game takes place in the lingering stratosphere of a destroyed planet -- the aircraft and weapons are futuristic versions of those found in World War I.
Broken Skies uses a custom arcade-style flight model that is interwoven with Unity® software's in-built physics system. The system allows for highly customizable physics interactions in order to preserve fun gameplay. Aircraft in the game may have certain components or parts destroyed, which in turn affects their flight characteristics.
Using Unity® trigger volumes and distance checks, I wrote an AI framework designed to be adapted to any kind of environment layout.
All sounds and forces in Broken Skies take time to traverse the thin air to the player, adding to a sense of distance and scale in the game.
